Restoring the Whangarei catchment

We’ve teamed up with Beach & Boat and Century Yuasa to clean-up the Whangarei Catchment.

With your help we can plant thousands of native trees! This will help filter out nutrients and pollutants from entering the harbour. It will also provide shade and habitat for native species.

Our goal is to plant 1,200 trees. They will be planted this winter along streams and rivers in the Whangarei region.

  • Choose how many trees you would like to plant ($5 a tree)
  • Watch your gift in action! Annual project updates will inform you with changes to animal life and water quality
  • Sign up for our bi-monthly newsletter. Read about progress being made to restore streams, rivers, lakes and wetlands across New Zealand

Million Metres is an online fundraising platform. We raise money for restoring the banks of New Zealand's waterways. Our goal is to raise funds to plant one million metres of waterways with native plants and trees.

This initiative is led by the Sustainable Business Network, in partnership with the Department of Conservation. So far 23 planting projects have been supported around the country.
