Sustainable Business Network (SBN) member Apex Insurance has announced a novel way of supporting the Million Metres Streams Project. For every SBN member that takes out a policy with them, Apex will donate 20% of its income to a riparian restoration project. This generous way of supporting us will apply on an ongoing basis.

Offering insurance broking, risk management, risk transfer advice and premium funding for businesses as well as personal insurance, Apex Insurance has many objectives around being sustainable and acting in an environmentally friendly way. “We are proud New Zealanders and want to be leaders in protecting our country’s future for our younger generations to enjoy,” says Apex Managing Director James McGhie. “SBN’s ethos of eliminating waste to improve profit and be kinder on the environment resonates with us, so the more efficient and profitable Apex can be, the more positive the impact on the environment.”

So why the Million Metres Streams Project? “We love the project and think it’s a great way to protect New Zealand’s future,” says James. “Our waterways are at the heart of our cultural identity and shape this beautiful country. By helping MMS achieve its goals of crowdfunding a million metres, we are doing our bit to ‘pay it forward’.“

“Donating 20% of our income from SBN members’ premiums is our way of living our values and partnering with like-minded businesses. This way we can prove we are serious about being a sustainable business, as well as make a compelling case for other like-minded businesses to join us. We are a passionate New Zealand owned business and this is a way to attract other passionate New Zealand businesses and stand out from the crowd of global companies competing in the same market place.”

Donations will be made monthly, and Apex and their customer will be credited on the donor list on the MMS project page.
