Thank you

Kia ora!

Thank you for joining us on our mission to restore New Zealand’s waterways.

We’re excited to get to know you better. But first, we’d like to tell you a bit about us!

Million Metres is an online fundraising platform. We raise money for restoring the banks of New Zealand streams, rivers, lakes and wetlands.

Our goal is to raise funds to plant one million metres of waterways with native plants and trees.

The initiative is led by the Sustainable Business Network, in partnership with the Department of Conservation.

Why plant streams?

Planting helps stabilise the banks of waterways and reduces erosion. Once the trees mature they help filter pollutants and provide native habitat for wildlife.

How it works

Million Metres helps landowners and community groups set up and run crowdfunding campaigns to raise money for planting. Each project has a fundraising page at www.millionmetres.org.nz

Generous individuals and businesses from across New Zealand donate to the project of their choice.

Donors receive annual updates about the projects they support. You can literally watch your investment grow!
