Planting projects are long term and results occur over many years. Million Metres will email project donors with periodic updates on the progress of the project(s) they have supported. When individuals, organisations or landowners (Project Holders) list a project on this website for crowdfunding, our Project Terms and Conditions (Project Ts&Cs) apply. These website terms must be read together with the Project Terms and Conditions.
This website enables you to give money to one or more projects (a donation).
Donations are made via the website using a valid credit card. Donations are immediate, non-refundable, non-transferrable and non-disputable. Unless otherwise specified, all rates are quoted in New Zealand Dollars.
Million Metres will decide, at its discretion, whether and when to provide donations to a project. We will provide an amount after deducting our administration costs (see below).
We reserve the right to remove any project from the website at any time (regardless of whether or not we have received any donations in relation to that project). If the project has received donations, we will work with the Project Holder to decide what to do with the donated funds (i.e. transferring them to another listed project etc.).
If the scope of a planting project changes significantly, and the Project Holder is unable to use all of the donated funds, we will work with the Project Holder to decide what to do with any unused funds. They could be transferred to another project in the area or to another project listed on Million Metres, etc.
In any cases where donated funds are transferred to another listed project, Million Metres will notify the relevant project donors of these changes, using the email address or other contact details provided by the donor.
If you do not provide us with accurate or current contact information, you acknowledge that we may be unable to (and have no responsibility to) contact you and inform you of this change.
Million Metres receives 15% of all donations made to listed projects to cover the costs associated with administering Million Metres, unless otherwise stipulated.
Payments through the website are processed by SwipeHQ and you agree to be bound by
SwipeHQ and Million Metres are independent. Million Metres has no access to your credit card information and we rely on SwipeHQ to confirm whether your donation was approved or not.
Million Metres does not offer refunds once a donation has been processed.
If you make a donation to Million Metres for a project by any means other than through this website (by giving cash or making a bank deposit, etc.) we will, to the extent possible, treat the donation as if it were a donation made through the website.
You are responsible for providing us with the name of the project that you would like to support and your contact details (name, phone number, address, email).
If you do not provide us with this information, you agree that we may not be able to acknowledge your donation, provide you with a receipt or contact you if your donation is not provided to the project that you wish to support, or to provide updates on the project that you supported.
Million Metres is a project of the Sustainable Business Network, a registered charitable trust. To be eligible to list a project on the website, projects must align with Sustainable Business Network purpose and objectives, including being for charitable purpose.
When you make a donation on the website, we will email you a receipt with the date and amount donated.
